SHAH ALAM, Oct 23 — The Selangor government has emphasised that demolition works in Kampung Jalan Papan, Pandamaran, Klang, will only involve vacant houses and business premises.

State executive councillor Borhan Aman Shah said cooperation with all relevant agencies would continue to ensure the process is carried out in phases, with due regard for humanitarian concerns and the state’s development goals.

In a statement today, he assured that the state government would closely monitor the demolition process through follow-up meetings to ensure full compliance with decisions made and to safeguard the welfare of affected residents.

“The objective is to ensure every action is implemented transparently, systematically, and in line with legal procedures,” he said.

Borhan added that the state government remains committed to managing settlement and development matters prudently, in an orderly manner, and with consideration for public interest and sustainable urban planning.

He also noted the peaceful demonstration held this morning by residents’ representatives outside the Selangor State Secretary (SUK) Building, during which a memorandum was submitted for the government’s detailed review. — Bernama
