SEOUL, April 19 — North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles on Sunday, South Korea’s military said, marking the latest in a series of recent weapons launches by the nuclear-armed state.
BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 19 — Penang police are actively searching for a Myanmar national believed to be the main suspect in the murder of a compatriot at Lorong IKS Juru 5, Simpang Ampat on April 5.
Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said the suspect, believed to be in his 30s, has been identified and is thought to still be in Malaysia as there is no record of him leaving the country.
“The manhunt is ongoing, while three of his friends who were detained a day after the incident will be released on police bail,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
He added that the two men and one woman, aged between 37 and 38, were initially remanded for seven days until April 13, before their detention was extended for another seven days to assist investigations.
The public has been urged to come forward with any information on the suspect to assist police efforts.
In the April 5 incident, a 53-year-old Myanmar factory worker was found dead with stab wounds at the roadside of Lorong IKS Juru 5 after an alleged attack by an acquaintance of the same nationality.
Police were alerted after the suspect reportedly informed a friend about the incident, who then contacted authorities at about 10.50pm.
It is understood the two male detainees are acquaintances of the suspect, while the woman is believed to be his girlfriend. — Bernama
