KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the 23 Malaysians from the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission, who had been detained by Israeli authorities since Thursday, will be flown from Israel to Istanbul today on a special flight arranged by Turkiye.

He said all 23 individuals are currently en route to Ramon Airport in southern Israel.

“After discussions with Malaysia’s intelligence chief in Ankara, along with our ambassador and the Malaysian Embassy there, it was decided that they will remain in Istanbul for about one to one and a half days to undergo health examinations, as they experienced trauma and stress due to Israel’s harsh and inhumane treatment.

“I have agreed to this arrangement, and they are expected to return home either tomorrow night or the following day,” Anwar said during a Facebook Live broadcast today. — Bernama
