WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
KUALALUMPUR, Feb 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received four courtesy calls yesterday, including a visit from American scholar and preacher Omar Suleiman, at the Parliament Building.
In a Facebook post, Anwar shared that their discussion covered the Gaza ceasefire, the state of Islam in the US under President Donald Trump, and Malaysia’s role in promoting an inclusive and moderate approach to Islam. Omar also praised Malaysia’s multilateral efforts in Gaza’s reconstruction, which are currently being planned.
Anwar also met Tan Sri Othman Hashim, the Asean Chair’s Special Envoy on Myanmar, to discuss resolving the ongoing conflict. He emphasized Asean’s crucial role in ensuring peace through diplomatic engagement.
Additionally, the prime minister welcomed former Chief of Defence Forces Gen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman, expressing gratitude for his service.
Lastly, he met with Neutral Transmission Sdn Bhd managing director Mohamed Awang Lah and his team, discussing efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s infrastructure and telecommunications, including improvements to Internet services, broadband, and4G/5G technologies. — Bernama
