KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Police are searching for a lorry driver and appealing for witnesses to assist in investigations into a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 65-year-old man in Jalan Desa Serdang, Seri Kembangan, last Saturday.

In a statement, Kajang district police said the incident occurred at about 9pm and involved a white bonded lorry and a Honda Wave motorcycle ridden by the victim.

Preliminary findings showed the lorry allegedly turned into a junction from the main road in a careless manner, causing the victim—who was travelling from the opposite direction—to graze the vehicle after failing to avoid it.

The victim fell onto the road and was discovered by passers-by before being taken to Serdang Hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead due to severe head injuries.

Police said CCTV footage from a nearby factory confirmed the collision, but the lorry’s registration number could not be identified.

Members of the public with information are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Raziman Rasid at 019-4565502. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. — Bernama
