KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — A social media influencer has been remanded for four days, starting yesterday to facilitate investigations into allegations of sending obscene images to a teenage girl.

Gombak District Police Chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the case is being investigated under Section 15(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

“The suspect was arrested on Thursday,” he confirmed when contacted by Bernama.

Earlier, singer and fellow social media influencer Caprice took to Instagram to expose several explicit messages allegedly sent by the suspect to an underage girl.

In a series of Instagram Story posts, Caprice said he was approached by the girl’s mother, who sought his assistance after her daughter was allegedly subjected to sexual harassment.

The posts included screenshots showing inappropriate messages and explicit images reportedly sent by the individual to the teenager. — Bernama
