KULIM, March 29 — Police have launched a murder probe after a charred body and a burnt motorcycle were discovered at Ladang Anak Kulim yesterday.

Kulim police chief Zulkifli Azizan said the Terap Police Station received a report at 2.25pm from a member of the public who came across the remains while in the area.

“The individual had gone there to catch birds and found the burnt body and motorcycle before leaving the scene to lodge a police report,” he said in a statement.

Police later traced the victim’s family through the motorcycle registration, and the next of kin confirmed that the 77-year-old man had been missing for four days.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Two suspects, aged 22 and 68, have been arrested and remanded for four days until April 1 to assist investigations. — Bernama
