BANGKOK, April 24 — Thailand’s Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a petition accusing 44 current and former opposition lawmakers of ethics violations over their 2021 move to amend a law protecting the monarchy from criticism, according to Thai media reports.
MIRI, April 21 — Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd has refuted a viral message circulating on social media and WhatsApp alleging that the Sungai Liku reservoir is drying up due to hot weather and warning of possible water rationing.
In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the utility company said its latest technical monitoring indicates that water levels at Sungai Liku remain normal and adequate for treatment and distribution throughout Miri.
It emphasised that there are currently no plans to impose water rationing or scheduled supply disruptions.
“The water treatment plant is operating at full capacity to ensure a continuous supply of treated water to all consumers,” it said.
Sarawak Water also stressed that it takes the spread of false information seriously, as such claims could create unnecessary public anxiety and confusion.
The public is urged to verify information through official sources before sharing it further.
It also called on individuals to stop spreading the false message, noting that any official updates on water supply issues will only be announced via its official website, verified Facebook page, or recognised media outlets in Sarawak. — The Borneo Post
