IPOH, June 6 — Police are searching for a motorcyclist suspected of smashing a car’s windscreen with a helmet during a road rage incident along Jalan Raja Ashman Shah early yesterday morning.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said a local man lodged a report after the incident, which took place at about 1.26am.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had honked at the motorcyclist, who was allegedly riding recklessly and almost obstructed his path.

“The victim is estimated to have suffered losses of about RM1,500 as a result of the incident,” he said in a statement last night.

Police have opened an investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.

Muhammad Najib said efforts are underway to identify and locate the suspect, believed to be a man in his 30s riding a blue Honda Dash motorcycle.

He added that dashcam footage from the incident is being examined to assist with the investigation.
