BUKIT KATIL, May 2 — A Year Two student sustained a severe forehead injury, while her older sister suffered bodily wounds following a hit-and-run incident near SK Demang Hussin in Bukit Katil, Melaka, yesterday.
According to Sinar Harian, the siblings were returning from eight-year-old Nur Qasyifa Hazlina Mohd Hayider’s school when their motorcycle was rear-ended by an unidentified vehicle.
“The collision caused both girls to fall and suffer injuries before they were rushed to Melaka Hospital for further treatment,” said Melaka Tengah District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit.
Nur Qasyifa suffered facial and eye injuries, including a deep gash on her forehead.
Police are actively searching for the driver and have urged witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation, which is being carried out under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The accident reportedly occurred around 1.30pm, when Nur Qarinah Hazirah was riding a Yamaha Ego Solaris motorcycle to pick up her younger sister from school.
