IPOH, Oct 5 — A police officer was killed this morning after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into another bike on the northbound North-South Expressway (PLUS) near kilometre 287.2.

IPOH, Oct 5 — A police officer was killed this morning after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into another bike on the northbound North-South Expressway (PLUS) near kilometre 287.2.

Ipoh police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the incident occurred around 9.40am and involved Insp Muhamad Helmi Hakim Muhamad Raus, 30, a Criminal Investigation Officer from the Taiping district police headquarters (IPD).

“The officer, who was riding a high-powered Honda CBR350RS, collided with a Honda Wave motorcycle ridden by a 16-year-old boy, who sustained minor injuries.

“The impact caused the officer to lose control of his motorcycle and fall onto the road,” he said in a statement today.

Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
