WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
SEREMBAN, Feb 16 – Lawmakers must ensure political funding is managed transparently and with integrity through stricter policies, said MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
He warned that money politics increases the risk of power abuse and irregularities. To maintain a clean government, he stressed the need for politicians to follow ethical codes and take proactive steps to prevent fund leakages and conflicts of interest.
“This is crucial to restoring public trust and safeguarding the nation’s well-being,” Azam said in a statement.
During an engagement session with Negeri Sembilan state assemblymen, themed Joint Commitment: Strengthening Governance, Integrity, and Anti-Corruption Policies, Azam emphasized the role of legislators in promoting integrity under the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) 2024-2028.
He acknowledged that Malaysia’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024 remains unchanged from 2023, indicating that greater efforts are needed to combat corruption. MACC aims to push Malaysia into the top 25 rankings within the next decade.
“Collaboration between state leaders and the public is essential to advancing the anti-corruption agenda,” he added. — Bernama
