PARIS, June 7 — US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warned yesterday that Europe was facing what he described as an “invasion” of dangerous ideologies arriving by sea, drawing a link between immigration and the legacy of the D-Day landings during remarks in Normandy.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — Road Transport Department Malaysia has suspended its online vehicle ownership transfer service effective today across all digital platforms, including the public portal, kiosks, and business partner channels operated by MyEG and eAuto Sdn Bhd.
JPJ director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said the immediate measure was introduced following complaints lodged through official channels and social media regarding cases of vehicle ownership transfers being carried out without the consent or knowledge of registered owners.
“JPJ takes this issue seriously, particularly matters involving vehicle maintenance and safety records stored in the department’s system.
“Therefore, starting May 25, all vehicle ownership transfer transactions involving individual and private company ownership must be carried out at JPJ counters,” he said in a statement yesterday.
For individual ownership transfers, transactions can be completed on the same day at state and branch JPJ offices. Meanwhile, applications involving private company ownership will require between five and seven working days for verification and approval after complete documents are submitted.
Aedy Fadly also said that under the eAuto service provider channel, only transactions through the Temporary Ownership Transfer System (STMS) will continue as usual.
However, the permanent ownership transfer process via the eSerahan Tukar Milik (eSTM) system has been suspended. Any party, including used car dealers intending to carry out such transactions, must now submit their applications directly at state or branch JPJ offices. — Bernama
