BANGKOK, April 24 — Thailand’s Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a petition accusing 44 current and former opposition lawmakers of ethics violations over their 2021 move to amend a law protecting the monarchy from criticism, according to Thai media reports.
KOTA KINABALU, March 7 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Sabah has arrested an assistant accountant from a government agency for allegedly submitting documents with false information involving maintenance works worth about RM90,000.
A source said the female suspect, in her 50s, was detained at around 1pm yesterday during a MACC operation conducted here.
“Initial investigations indicate that the suspect is believed to have committed the offence in 2025 by submitting government order documents, invoices and company quotations containing false details.
“The case involved supply, upgrade and maintenance works within the department where she was employed. The suspect is also believed to have directly appointed companies owned by her family members to obtain bribes,” the source said.
Sabah MACC director Datuk Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrest when contacted.
He added that the case is being investigated under Sections 18 and 23 of the MACC Act 2009. — Bernama
