LONDON, May 15 — Everton captain Seamus Coleman will end his 17-year playing career at Everton after his contract expires at the end of the season, the Premier League club confirmed.

The 37-year-old right-back, who joined from Sligo Rovers in 2009, made 433 appearances in all competitions and holds the club record for most Premier League appearances with 372. He also captained Everton 140 times.

Coleman said he had decided this season would be his last at the club, thanking fans for their long-standing support and describing his time at Everton as beyond his expectations.

In recent seasons, injuries have limited his playing time, with just one Premier League start this campaign.

Everton said the defender is considering his future during the off-season and has been offered a potential coaching role at the club. — Reuters
