DUNGUN, March 23 — The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 66-year-old man believed to have gone missing while diving in the waters off Pulau Tenggol last Friday has yet to yield any results as of yesterday.

DUNGUN, March 23 — The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 66-year-old man believed to have gone missing while diving in the waters off Pulau Tenggol last Friday has yet to yield any results as of yesterday.

In a statement, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said no new leads have been discovered so far.

The victim, identified as Tam Peng Hoong, was reportedly wearing dark diving gear at the time of the incident.

“The integrated operation involves multiple agencies, including MMEA deploying the Perkasa 49 patrol boat with five crew members, and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) with the PSC 25 patrol boat and four personnel.

“The effort is also supported by the local diving community, including Tenggol Coral Beach Resort with 15 divers, Tenggol Dive Buddy Dungun (six divers), and Ocean Dream Dungun (six divers),” the statement said.

Search efforts have been concentrated around the last known location of the victim and nearby waters.

However, operations were suspended late in the afternoon due to sea conditions and are scheduled to resume today. — Bernama
