SHAH ALAM, Nov 2 — The Selangor government will launch a free influenza vaccination programme next week for over 12,500 schoolchildren in districts with the highest number of cases — Petaling, Klang, Gombak and Hulu Langat.

State Public Health and Environment Committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said RM1 million has been allocated for the initiative, which targets children from low-income (B40) families.

Vaccinations will be carried out through school outreach programmes at Integrated Special Education Centres (PPKIs) and via walk-ins at Selcare or selected panel clinics. Parents can register through the SELangkah app.

Jamaliah said the programme aims to protect children from influenza, ease financial burdens on families, and curb the virus’ spread in the community. — Bernama
