Temporarily named Blackie and Princess, the dogs are under close observation and undergoing oxygen therapy for smoke inhalation. Blackie is being kept in an incubator with an oxygen concentrator, while Princess is on IV fluids and oxygen support.

Volunteer firefighter Datuk Dr Ken Foo from the Shah Alam Volunteer Fire Brigade confirmed their condition in a video update shared online last night.

The dogs were found tied up inside their home and unable to escape the flames. Dr Ken described them as trembling and immobile when rescued.

The fire was triggered by a gas leak from a Petronas pipeline on the morning of April 1, sending flames up to 500 metres high, visible from kilometres away.

The explosion, which occurred on the second day of Hari Raya, damaged nearly 200 homes and led to the evacuation of 305 residents. Several were injured and required hospital treatment. No fatalities have been reported.
