WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — Sunway Group and MRT Corporation (MRT Corp) have announced a RM2.6 billion integrated mixed-use development at Bukit Chagar, the Johor Baru terminus of the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link.
The project will feature a shopping mall, four towers, a hotel, serviced apartments, a health-and-wellness hub, and education facilities. It will be fully integrated with the RTS station, the new Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Complex, and Johor Baru's public transport network, including KTM electric trains and city buses.
A park-and-ride facility will provide 1,550 car and 1,015 motorcycle spaces, with 850 car spaces and all motorcycle spaces expected to be operational by November2026.
Sunway Group chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah believes the project will drive economic growth in Greater Johor Baru, while MRT Corp CEO Mohd Zarif Hashim highlighted its role in integrating transit infrastructure with urban development.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that proposals for a supplementary transit system to ease traffic from the RTS Link will be invited under a private-public partnership. The RTS Link, set to launch by the end of 2026, aims to reduce congestion on the Johor-Singapore Causeway, which sees up to 450,000 daily user.
