BERLIN, Nov 1 — Swiss Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler is awake and communicating after last Sunday’s severe crash at the Malaysian Grand Prix, his team said.
The 20-year-old has been moved from intensive care to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur but still faces a long recovery.
Dettwiler suffered multiple cardiac arrests, heavy internal bleeding, and an open leg fracture during the Sepang warm-up crash. Doctors removed his spleen and performed leg surgery, while scans also revealed severe lung bruising and a neck tear.
He will wear a neck brace for several weeks and requires another leg operation before he can return to Switzerland. — Bernama
