NEW YORK, May 23 — The Trump administration yesterday revoked Harvard University’s authorization to enroll foreign students—who make up over a quarter of its student body—in a sharp escalation of the president’s conflict with the prestigious institution.
KUCHING, May 13 — The 15-year-old boy involved in the major crash along Jalan Teo Kui Seng earlier this year is set to be charged in the Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 have concluded, and the investigation papers were submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers in Putrajaya.
“The AG’s Chambers has decided to charge the teenager with two offences — causing death by reckless driving under Section 41(1), and underaged driving under Section 39(1) for being below 16 years of age,” he said in a statement.
He added that the teen’s 35-year-old father will also face charges under Section 33(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for failing to provide adequate supervision.
The fatal pileup resulted in five deaths: three men and a woman, aged between 16 and 45, were pronounced dead at the scene, while a 16-year-old boy died while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital.
The teen driver suffered a neck injury and was taken into police custody.
Dashcam footage widely circulated online captured the car speeding from Jalan Lapangan Terbang before veering into the opposite lane on Jalan Stutong Baru, crashing into multiple vehicles. — The Borneo Post
