IPOH, Sept 20 — A 17-year-old boy died after falling at Buntong Waterfall here today.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) acting assistant director of Operations, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, an emergency call was received from the Health Ministry at 11.26am seeking assistance to bring the victim down.

A team from the Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene.

“Upon reaching the foothill, the team had to trek about one kilometre to the site where the victim had fallen.

“The victim, who was injured, received initial treatment from medical personnel but was later pronounced dead,” he said in a statement.

Shazlean added that the operation was completed at 2.20pm. — Bernama
