WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, officiated the launch of Catopia Shah Alam at Dataran Kemerdekaan, Section 14, today, highlighting a significant step in creating pet-friendly public spaces.
Her Royal Highness also unveiled Ikon Oyen, the park’s official mascot, symbolizing responsible pet ownership and community-driven animal welfare initiatives.
Following the ceremony, she toured the park, interacting with its feline residents. Opened in July 2024, the park has since welcomed over 1,500 visitors.
Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) mayor, Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, described Catopia as more than just a recreational space, emphasizing its role in promoting animal welfare and enhancing Selangor’s tourism appeal.
Designed as a paradise for pet cats, the park features 12 interactive elements, including shelters, feeding stations, tunnels, a suspension bridge, and a water fountain.
Despite being operational for only eight months, Catopia Shah Alam has already earned recognition, receiving a Special Mention in the Placemaking and Public Space Award and a Gold Award for Best Planning Content in Media at the MIP Planning Excellence Award 2024. — Bernama
