NEW YORK, May 23 — The Trump administration yesterday revoked Harvard University’s authorization to enroll foreign students—who make up over a quarter of its student body—in a sharp escalation of the president’s conflict with the prestigious institution.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Malaysia and Bahrain are strengthening their commitment to boost trade and investment ties, while also exploring new opportunities in the digital economy and green technology, said Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
In a post on X yesterday, Tengku Zafrul shared details of his meeting with Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Noor Ali AlKhulaif, along with Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla Adel Fakhro.
“Towards shared prosperity for Malaysia and Bahrain!” he wrote.
The Bahraini delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) yesterday, following their earlier visit to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
In 2024, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Bahrain amounted to RM1.19 billion, with Malaysian exports valued at RM251.2 million and imports at RM943.3 million.
In 2023, Bahrain was Malaysia’s ninth-largest trading partner in the West Asian region. Meanwhile, Malaysia ranked as Bahrain’s third-largest trading partner within ASEAN and 18th globally. — Bernama
