NEW YORK, May 23 — The Trump administration yesterday revoked Harvard University’s authorization to enroll foreign students—who make up over a quarter of its student body—in a sharp escalation of the president’s conflict with the prestigious institution.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 — Malaysia’s share of the rubber glove market in the United States is projected to rise to 55 per cent, despite a 10 per cent tariff hike and reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US.
Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti), Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the country remains competitive, as producers from rival nations such as China face even steeper tariffs, giving Malaysia an edge in boosting its glove exports.
“In terms of rubber glove exports, Malaysia is well-positioned to grow its presence in the US. We currently hold around 47 per cent of the market share, and it’s expected to reach 55 per cent based on industry feedback,” he said during Miti’s first-quarter 2025 performance briefing today.
According to the 1Q 2025 report, the US rubber glove market is projected to reach US$4.17 billion (RM17.6 billion) by 2030, with Malaysia potentially commanding more than half of it.
