BANGKOK, April 24 — Thailand’s Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a petition accusing 44 current and former opposition lawmakers of ethics violations over their 2021 move to amend a law protecting the monarchy from criticism, according to Thai media reports.
KUALA TERENGGANU, April 24 — All schools in Terengganu have been directed to suspend outdoor activities following the ongoing hot and dry weather conditions.
Terengganu State Education Department (JPNT) director Kamsah@Kamal Mohamed said the directive had been circulated to all schools in the state and took effect from April 20.
“All outdoor activities are cancelled, including water-based events. However, indoor activities are allowed to continue. Other programmes such as the 1 Student 1 Sport initiative, uniformed units, clubs and associations, as well as sports and games, are also suspended.
“This step is taken to ease the situation and ensure safety, as student safety remains our top priority. Therefore, starting April 20, JPNT has enforced the suspension of all outdoor activities. Assemblies are only permitted in the early morning, and any afternoon programmes must be postponed,” he said when contacted today.
He also said that recent fire incidents, particularly in Kuala Nerus, along with resulting haze, are being closely monitored by JPNT.
“I have contacted the deputy state health director and the district health office for advice on the current situation. Awareness posters on preventive measures have also been distributed to all schools.
“At this time, there is no need to implement Home-Based Teaching and Learning (PdPR) as the Department of Environment and the health office have confirmed that the situation remains under control,” he said.
He added that any further instructions will be issued as needed in accordance with guidelines from the Education Ministry to state education departments, district offices and schools. — Bernama
