WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
PARIS, May 27 — Cristiano Ronaldo hinted at a possible exit from Al Nassr on Monday, stating that a “chapter is over” just hours after the Saudi Pro League concluded its season.
The 40-year-old Portuguese star, who joined Al Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United, is set to see his contract expire this summer.
A special transfer window from June 1 to 10 will allow the 32 participating clubs in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup to register new players. However, Al Nassr is not among them — unlike Saudi rivals Al Hilal.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently said there are “discussions” about Ronaldo possibly joining a Club World Cup side, with the expanded tournament set to kick off in the United States on June 14.
In a cryptic social media post, Ronaldo shared a photo of himself in an Al Nassr jersey with the caption: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
Al Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League and were knocked out in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League by Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale. Despite the team’s struggles, Ronaldo ended the season as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.
Previously, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner had expressed openness to retiring at Al Nassr, but his latest remarks signal uncertainty about his future.
His longtime rival Lionel Messi will feature in the Club World Cup with Inter Miami. Speaking to streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino said: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams at the Club World Cup. There are ongoing talks with clubs — who knows what might happen?” — AFP
