WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac) expects over 35,000 visitors at Iftar @KL 2025, a mass breaking fast event on March 15, 16, 22, and 23 at Dataran Merdeka.
Organized by Motac through JKKN, in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall and KLFTEA, the event blends Ramadan traditions with cultural elements, welcoming both locals and tourists.
JKKN director-general Mohd Amran Mohd Haris said the event will be a highlight of Visit Malaysia Year 2026. To ensure comfort, tents will be provided to tackle weather challenges.
Volunteers play a key role, promoting values like gotong-royong (communal work) and fostering youth engagement. Efforts are underway to reintroduce international students into the programme.
Volunteer Ain Tasnim Mat Yasim, 27, shared that her experience since 2019 has been rewarding, seeing people unite over a shared meal. Mark Yogaraj Kunasegaran, 36, praised the event’s role in strengthening multicultural unity through mutual respect and togetherness.
Iftar @KL aims to preserve traditions, build community bonds, and promote cultural tourism. — Bernama
