WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
MERSING, June 3 — A holiday turned tragic for two siblings who drowned while swimming at Pulau Mentigi beach yesterday afternoon.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Mersing Zone director, Maritime Commander Suhaizan Saadin, identified the victims as 15-year-old Nur Awatif Udaima Mohd Hisam and her 13-year-old brother, Ahmad Uwais Al Qarni.
He explained that the Malaysia Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC) Johor notified them at 4:25 pm to launch a search and rescue (SAR) operation. MMEA’s patrol boat Perkasa 44 was dispatched to the scene immediately.
“Nur Awatif Udaima was found by local residents at the site of the drowning at 4:30 pm,” Suhaizan said.
“Following that, Perkasa 44 and islanders widened the search area, and Ahmad Uwais Al Qarni was discovered by divers from the community at 6:30 pm,” he added in a statement released last night.
Suhaizan mentioned that the siblings’ family had returned to their village on Pulau Tinggi for the school holidays and had gone to the beach—approximately 19 nautical miles from the Mersing coast—for a day out.
The victims’ bodies were handed over to the Marine Police Force (PPM) and transported back to Shahbandar Jetty.
Mersing District Police Chief, Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani, confirmed that the siblings’ bodies were sent to Mersing Hospital for post-mortem examination. — Bernama
