KUANTAN, Sept 18 — A trailer truck rammed into the Felda Kechau 8 Auxiliary Police Control Post in Kuala Lipis yesterday morning, leaving the driver and an auxiliary police officer injured.

Lipis District Police Chief Supt Ismail Man said the crash happened at about 9.50am when the 28-year-old driver, who was travelling in an empty trailer from Sungai Temau towards Kuantan, lost control and collided with the control post and a car.

“The impact caused the roof and walls of the post to collapse onto a motorcycle parked nearby,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The driver and a 23-year-old auxiliary policeman inside the post sustained injuries and were taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for treatment. Another auxiliary officer, aged 31, escaped unharmed.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police have urged witnesses to step forward to assist in the probe. — Bernama
