PETALING JAYA, Nov 17 — Two men were brought before the Magistrate’s Court today to face charges for the murder of a saleswoman whose naked, bound body was discovered near the Blue Water Estate roundabout in Seri Kembangan last month.

PETALING JAYA, Nov 17 — Two men were brought before the Magistrate’s Court today to face charges for the murder of a saleswoman whose naked, bound body was discovered near the Blue Water Estate roundabout in Seri Kembangan last month.

Information technology officer K. Kaarthiek, 26, and lorry driver A. Hariprasanth, 23, nodded as the charges were read before Magistrate Shahril Anuar Ahmad Mustapha.

No plea was taken, as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

The duo is accused of murdering 24-year-old Saraswathy Chan Chee Keong at Jalan Orkid near Bulatan Blue Water Estate, Seri Kembangan, between 6.18pm on October 24, 2025, and 2.17am the next day.

They are charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34, which carries the death penalty or, if not imposed, imprisonment of 30 to 40 years along with up to 12 strokes of the cane.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Lim Leong Hui appeared for the prosecution, while lawyer Sivahnanthan Ragava represented Kaarthiek. Hariprasanth was represented by lawyers Kailash Sharma and Datin Raj Preet Kaur.

The court fixed January 16 for mention to submit the chemical and post-mortem reports. — Bernama
