KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 — Two men were arrested after a viral social media video showed them performing dangerous ‘wheelie’ stunts on high-powered motorcycles along the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the suspects, aged 31 and 36, were detained at about 6am today to assist in the investigation. Police also seized one of the motorcycles involved.

Investigations revealed that the incident took place around 11am on May 9 on the SPE Highway, on the stretch from Kuala Lumpur towards Putrajaya.

“The stunt is believed to have been carried out by the two riders while participating in a moving motorcycle convoy. They were riding a red Ducati Hypermotard 950 and a black Ducati Panigale,” he said in a statement.

Both men were remanded for one day, while police are also seeking CCTV footage and completing documentation on the motorcycles involved.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous riding that endangered other road users. — Bernama
