KLANG, Feb 12 — Two women were robbed of nearly RM50,000 in a broad-daylight heist at a grocery store in Bandar Parklands on Monday afternoon.
South Klang district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong stated that a machete-wielding man entered the store around 2pm, targeting a 59-year-old female customer. He threatened to cut off her necklace if she resisted and even kicked her.
The second victim, a 28-year-old store employee, panicked and threw her necklace at the robber. The suspect then fled in a grey SUV with fake license plates, driven by an accomplice.
Although both victims were unharmed, they lost valuable jewelry worth approximately RM50,000.
Police are actively tracking the suspects, and the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery. A CCTV recording of the incident has since gone viral. — Bernam
