SIBU, Oct 5 — Residents of Eco Garden will continue to experience water supply disruptions for the next few days as Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (Central Region) works to refill both the high-level and ground storage tanks.
In a statement today, Sarawak Water said it expects the system to take several days to stabilise before the Eco Garden Booster Station can resume normal operations.
“The Eco Garden Booster Station requires daily refilling of its high-level tank to between 2.5 and 3.0 metres using pumps from the ground tank to maintain a steady water supply for residents.
“However, refilling is more effective at night, as water pressure remains low during the day due to the system’s ongoing recovery and instability,” the statement read.
The company added that although a temporary bypass has been opened to channel water directly, bypassing the Eco Garden Booster Station, overall pressure remains low.
“As of today (Sunday), the high-level tank’s water level stands at 0.6 metres, while the ground tank level is at 1.0 metre. Once both consistently reach 2.5–3.0 metres, residents can expect normal water supply throughout the day,” Sarawak Water said.
The company apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured residents that efforts are ongoing to restore full service as soon as possible. It also thanked consumers for their patience and cooperation. — The Borneo Post
