LONDON, Dec 28 — Ollie Watkins hopes to celebrate his 30th birthday by helping Aston Villa beat Arsenal, despite several Gunners-supporting family members attending.

Watkins scored twice off the bench in Villa’s 2-1 win over Chelsea, keeping Unai Emery’s side three points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

“I’ve got a lot of family coming who support Arsenal,” he said. “Hopefully they’ll watch me achieve the same result as tonight in a couple of days.”

Watkins had struggled this season, scoring just three goals while dealing with long-term knee issues, but aims to finish strongly and push for a place in England’s World Cup squad. — AFP
