PARIS, June 7 — US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warned yesterday that Europe was facing what he described as an “invasion” of dangerous ideologies arriving by sea, drawing a link between immigration and the legacy of the D-Day landings during remarks in Normandy.
KUALA KRAI, May 27 — A woman was killed and five others, including two boys, were injured in a collision involving an MPV and a car near a Caltex petrol station in Laloh here this morning.
Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said the victim, 52-year-old Safinaz Razmi, was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel.
He said the department received an emergency call at 7.18am and arrived at the location 26 minutes later after travelling about 30.2 kilometres. The crash involved a Toyota Alphard MPV and a Perodua Bezza.
“The female passenger in the Perodua Bezza was confirmed dead at the scene by MOH personnel,” he said in a statement today.
He added that firefighters assisted in removing the victim’s body before handing it over to the police for further action.
The injured victims, including three occupants of the Perodua Bezza and two boys from the Toyota Alphard, were taken to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai for treatment.
Meanwhile, Kuala Krai deputy police chief DSP Mohd Maizan Mustaffa later confirmed that two of Safinaz’s children died while receiving treatment in the hospital’s emergency red zone this afternoon.
The victims were identified as 22-year-old Jasmin Lyana Mohd Jamil and one-year-old Nur Nuha Helena Abdul Matiin.
Police said investigations are ongoing and urged anyone with information about the accident to contact the Kuala Krai district police headquarters. — Bernama
