In a statement read on state television, the Iranian military’s central command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, said the “restrictions imposed by criminal America on maritime navigation and transit in international waters are illegal and constitute an example of piracy.”

It further warned that if Iran’s ports in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea are put at risk, then ports across the region would also not be safe. — AFP
