PENAMPANG, June 17 — A man was discovered dead in a forest at Kampung Togudon here on Monday.

He said investigations showed the victim had gone into the forest alone on June 10 to check and maintain his bat net.
Police also found a chainsaw and other belongings believed to belong to the deceased at the scene.
“Preliminary findings suggest the victim was struck by a falling tree while attempting to cut it down,” he said in a statement.
No criminal elements were detected, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
The body was later removed from the forest and sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
